Design

'Design' is a valuable life skill that must be learned! It is essential in any purposeful project be it engineering or any other context of achievement.   Designers might employ engineers to help with making things work. People love making things and its a great way of learning. The making skills are valuable for life but good Design skills are a step further on because at the end of the day a product must not only work but be the right product in the first place.

So Design has many aspects: Marketing /Research- finding out what needs to be made, understanding people, how they interact with technology - what they need etc, how things work and how they can be made (engibeering) selling them (sales and advertising) getting them to the customer (transport), maintaining them (communucating instructions) repairing them (making sure they can be repaired) disposing of them after use (design for recycling )

We use multiple starting points - maybe self assembly kits or just from raw materials and develop craft skills.
We like to test products on real people and get feedback as to how to improve them.
