Home Education Provision

So you home educate! Well we do too and we're now on our second generation - with all our kids married and in gainful employment and some parents themselves. Our 'family' is bigger than our own kids and their kids, we have a network of friends who we have worked with over the years and mutually supported one another through the jungle of interactions with HE, the LA, schools and various legal requirements. But it CAN be done and it can be done very very well.

We are absolutely committed to child protection and we uphold the law.  Our stance is that not all children are safe in schools nor do schools meet their needs and we sympathise when parents become exasperated because of deterioration of home life or child self harm or apathy.  And we also provide for the high fliers, those who school holds back for some reason. We are Creativity/STEM specialists. We do not offer sports or animal care but we do liaise with those who do.

We have 13 years experience now in HE and before that 20 years in state education. We have law and education degrees and a network of contacts, including critical friends.  Hopefully you'll join our learning community in which we operate democratically. We do not supervise your children or provide child care. We provide courses and small groups to which parents bring their kids and can remain on site to fraternise and delegate supervision between parents. You can sit and work or otherwise be present just in case you are needed.

On this basis it works. You are the parent, we are not 'in loco parentis' ie responsible for progress or your child's education but we take safety accountability and community relationships very seriously.
