Media is everything to do with how information is conveyed and communicated. Photography, Videography, Audio recording, soundtrack, music, Foley (making sound effects) editing, processing, publishing . . . 

 

We have a range of visual and audio equipment as well as computers and software for processing. You have lots of ideas and the enthusiasm to capture, process and communicate your ideas.​

You will need to be familiar with a computer mouse - just now this is the main way that we can tell a computer what we want it to do and most media is processed on computers . . . 

​

However, other skills we will develop are script writing, promotion, camera and audio skills props making, directing . . even acting.

We'll study how the camera needs to be operated in order to wow the viewer and not confuse them. We'll make audio recordings - yes audio is a huge proportion of the content of a movie. We'll look at animation and digital effects - don't expect a full Harry Potter movie production but we can make a start!

Some of the content will be based on technology you may have at home such as your own cameras /software. It makes sense for your to use this. We also have some pretty professional kit that you wont have at home.

 

You can access Maker Space Sessions to continue your editing in between sessions or do this from home. (booking required!)  Editing takes ages!! There is not time in our sessions for all the editing you will probably want to do so please expect to put in time in the week between sessions at home or in Maker Space.

Maker Space would also be useful for you to  make props for your productions for which we have paints and materials. These will need to be funded in addition to the basic course fee.
