Senior Aeronauts 13+
Wednesdays 10am -1pm
3 Hour sessions plus home prep.
This facilitates a silver CREST award for your reserach into an aspect of flight of your choice.
You will need to organise yourself - we recommend MIRO - which we use in the lessons for group collaboration.
You may need CAD CAM software. Once again we can provide a student license of the very powerful TechSoft 2DDesign as used in many schools because it is not www based and acommodates graphic bitmaps as well as vector drawing.
3D CAD software - and again we use an ancient program called ProDesktop 2000i2. Don't laugh - it's very intuitive and heaps better to learn with than many of the alternatives. You can have something 3D printed in very little time from a very low spec computer.
Aeroschool is rich in STEM content. During this course we focus on the BMFA challenge as well as each student building their own RC aeroplane to fly on our site under our tutiledge. During this course you will explore an original range of kit based resources and learn design and making skills, physics, dynamics, and many engineering principles.
This course follows on from Junior Aeronauts who will have made lots of gliders and explored various ways of making. Dont worry if you are new to aero topics or a mid-term inclusion - you can easily catch up if you are keen enough!
This course covers much content at KS 4 and 5 D&T!!
Our sessions take up to six students
